LARS
(guitar, vocals)
Lars took up the guitar in the mid '60s, going on to join a procession of
aspiring local bands. By the end of the decade he'd put his six-string down
and instead adopted the role of lead singer, but mid-way through the '70s
he decided to rekindle his playing career. During this time Lars toured the
UK, playing alongside famous names such as Eric Clapton, Free, Rory Gallagher
and Slade, to name but a few... As
the years and music progressed, the hair grew longer and the amps got louder
as LARS continued on his musical travels... This journey
took in a far-flung variety of venues - from universities to the Mecca circuit. His
path crossed those of Paul and Steve during 1971, but it would be another
25 years before they finally converged in the same band - a threesome that
would go on to form STATUS CLONE... By
the late '90s LARS had decided to lay back a little,
preferring to concentrate on his recording and song writing activities, but
the lure of live performance would prove too strong...
Courtesy of numerous reviews and other literary contributions, Lars has become
a well-known name, face and haircut in the UK music press. His image has often
earned him the nickname Rick (his middle moniker actually IS Richard), so
he was the obvious choice for STATUS CLONE!
