Dave is finally mobile enough to start gigging again.
All in Clone (and, I'm sure, all our followers too) would like to say a huge
thank you to Brian Smith for doing an absolutely stunning job on bass
for us during Dave's absence. He
fitted in so well and after almost 6 months of gigging with us we think of
him as Clone's" fifth member!" You
really did brilliantly, Brian!
As you all know, Brian has made many friends since he has been playing with
us, so like Rhino (Brian's hero) does for Quo, he has kept a tour log of the
Clone gigs he has played. (Thirty one in all!). So for all of Brian's friends
and followers, you can now read Brian's Clone
Tour Log on a new webpage specially created for it here.
(Anyway as Clone's honoury "fifth member"
he definitely deserves a page of his own on the website!)
Brian,
we all wish you well for the future and hopefully look forward to seeing you
and the family at some of our gigs soon. Well
done and thanks a million!
31/03/06
Our bass player Dave has undergone a major operation
on his ankle and consequently will not be gigging with us for some months
whilst he recovers. During this time his place on bass will be taken by
Brian Smith, who depped for Dave so brilliantly last July and August.
So its a fond welcome back to Brian (already a good friend to us
in Clone) and best wishes to Dave for a speedy recovery.
24/12/05 Wishing all our friends a Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year!
It has been a very successful year for Status
Clone. This has resulted in increased exposure for the band both on radio
and in the press, which, in turn, has made us more widely known than ever!
Our
New Year starts with gigs at
the Treloar College, Alton, Hants (19th), Beacon Bingo,
Northampton (21st) and a one nighter at the famous Santa Pola Palace,
Nr Alicante in Spain (28th).So it's onward and upward into an exciting 2006!
We like to say
thanks to all our supporters (especially our loyal band of "Clone
Rangers" who regularly travel great distances to see us). And a very
special thank you too, to Mr. Brian Smith (aka "Bigsmig"),
for doing such a fine job on bass during Dave's enforced absence during July
and August.
Looking foward to seeing you all again in the New Year!

It
was very nice to see Brian again (the bassist who played with us
last August during Dave's enforced absence). He made the trip up to
Silloth with his family to
see us at Stanwix Holiday Park. Great to see you again, Brian, and
to meet all the family.
Thanks too, to Eric Stanwix of Stanwix Holiday Park,
Silloth, Cumbria, for giving us a CD full of excellent pictures of the band
taken
at last year's gig there (example left). These will be appearing on our Gigpix
page shortly.

Profuse apologies to the Chicago Rock, Chester
le Street and to all those who travelled there to see us tonight, but
our truck suffered a total brake failure en route. Despite attempts by us
and the AA to cure the problem at
the roadside, it proved impossible to rectify.
This unfortunately made it totally impossible for us to get to the venue.
This is the first ever non-appearance of the band at any booking since we
started five years (and well over 400 gigs) ago. What makes it even more galling
is the van had its major service only the week before. Nevertheless, thanks
to AA for their stirling efforts and their Relay service (thanks, Martin)
for getting us and the van back home. And again, many sincere apologies to
the venue and all those who travelled to the gig to see us.
(We have acquired a replacement van for tomorrow's
gig at Butlins, Skegness, which will go ahead as normal).

The pictures from the recent show we did in Zevenhuisen,
Holland have now been added to our "Gigpix

Paul will be doing another radio interview, this time on Pirate FM at
7.40am tomorrow (Wednesday 24th) concerning the gig at the Lands End Complex.
Please note: Admission to this gig is by advance
ticket only. However tickets can be bought "on the night" from the First
and Last Inn, Sennen (About a mile up the road from the Lands End Complex).
22/08/05
As some of you already know, our bassist, Dave,
has been off for the last few weeks following major knee surgery. Our great
thanks to Brian Smith (pictured left playing with us in Holland) who
did a really brilliant job on bass at all our gigs during Dave's absence.
We couldn't have wished for a smoother transition. Thanks again Brian! (Dave
returns this coming Saturday at the Lands End Complex Concert).
Those of you living in the West Country will be
able to hear Paul being interviewed on B.B.C. Radio Cornwall about
"Status Clone" and the forthcoming concert at Land's End at about
11.10am tomorrow
morning (Tuesday 23rd)

Late gig change. This Saturday's gig (9th
April) at Benbridge Coast, Isle of Wight, has
been rescheduled to the following day (Sunday 10th).

Pleased to announce that another "Gigpix"

Early risers in the North East of England may have heard
Paul being interviewed about "Status Clone"on B.B.C. Radio
North East 's Breakfast Show at 7.30 am.
The interview coincided with the Quo Concert in Newcastle that night. Apparently
it was too early an hour for Rick or Francis to take part, so the B.B.C. contacted
Paul (our "Rossi") to do the interview in their stead.

We have
made a major upgrade to our lighting rig, with the addition of extra Spectres
each side for improved colour washes and a gantry at the rear, supporting
two banks of pinspots, two new white floods and a "Derby" for various
effects. The gantry has also made a handy home for our
two existing yellow spots and a convenient place to hang the banner &
backdrop.

Our Christmas CDs sold very well again, with a sudden increase in the amount
of international orders this year, many sold as far afield as Australia and
Japan! The CD continues to be available throughout the
year from this website. (Details and order form on the merchandise
page).

Status Clone has received yet another review from "The
Stage" newspaper. Joy David's review, accompanied by
a picture of band, appeared in this week's edition of The Stage and states
"I am not a Rock & Roll enthusiast, but
I found myself tapping my feet and listening keenly. I was not the only one
- The audience lapped up the men, their music and their sense of fun".

Paul's
review of Fender's new
Francis Rossi & Rick Parfitt Signature Telecaster Guitars can
be read in this month's (February) "Guitarist" Magazine and also in
the March edition of Germany's "Gitarre & Bass" magazine (which is
all in German, of course!) This magazine also features a picture of both Paul
and Lars playing their respective Status Quo Signature Telecasters.
(More details and the full published picture can be found on our Press
Page).

Fender has sent Paul, (our "Rossi"). both their Francis Rossi &
Rick Parfitt Signature Telecaster Guitars for review. Paul's review of both
these guitars is due to appear in this coming February's edition of "Guitarist"
magazine.

We have added a new additional gallery page titled "The
Way We Were". We are frequently asked about what each of us did, and
who we played with, before Status Clone, so thought it would be fun to upload
some pictures from our previous bands and pasts. If you want to check
out Paul's, Steve's & Dave's musical past in pictures check out the New
Gallery. (Lars is missing because he hasn't any).

Lately we find ourself playing an increasing amount
of large venues with capacites of 3000+ , This has necessitated the purchase
of two more E.V. bass bins to add to our existing p.a.rig. This gives us now
a total of four E.V. bass bins and two E.V. top cabs. The extra bins will
ensure a cleaner and punchier bottom end with a better spread when playing
very large capacity venues.

Pleased to announce we have finally solved our
problems with the .com address. Either statusclone.co.uk or statusclone.com
can now be used to access this website. Many apologies for any inconvenience
this may have caused.
3/03/03
Due to a technical problem with our server the
statusclone.com website is temporarily unavailable. We are working
to rectify this as soon as possible. In the meantime please continue to use
this backup mirror site using the www.statusclone.co.uk address.
Please note: Whilst we are
on this temporary address the email links on the website may not automatically
redirect mail to our mailbox. During
this time, please use instead the
alternative address, statusclone@hotmail.com
for all emails. Thank you and sorry for any inconvenience.

We have had another review appearing in "The
Stage" trade newspaper (in the 13th
February 2003 edition). The reviewer, Mr. Marcus
Collingbourne, said "Status Clone have to be one of the tightest outfits
I have come across in ages. This four-piece replicate the original line-up
instrumentally to produce the true Quo sound and raced through classics including
Paper Plane and Whatever You Want before closing with Down Down. Sheer entertainment
in all its ripped denim, legs split, head banging glory."
We get many emails enquiring about ticket prices.
Often we don't know these in advance ourselves, but for those ticket gigs
for which we do have details, we thought it would be helpful to include these
on the website. Therefore, we will now be putting any relevant ticket info
we have on our gig
guide page. Just "mouse-over" the
info icon
and the details (phone number, price, booking method
etc) should appear for a few seconds. Repeat as required.

It's
goodbye to our trusty Ford Transit that has served us well for the past few
years, which we have finally outgrown. The increasing amount of work, travelling
and extra gear we now take to gigs has necessitated the purchase of a larger,
more powerful and comfortable means of transport.
We have chosen a seven-seater LDV Convoy Crewbus, allowing each of us (except
the one who's doing the driving at the time, of course!) a double seat to
lounge about on and a much larger gear capacity in the load compartment.
28/01/03
Pleased to announce a new facility on the website.
It is interactive regional gig map accessed from
the gig guide page, giving listings of all our
gigs by region. We often have questions and emails about when we are next
playing in different areas of the country. This new page will hopefully enable
people to keep track more easily of when we are next playing in their neck
of the woods. Hope you find it useful!
2/01/03
Happy New Year to all our friends!
Our Xmas CD sold well
again this year. Hope you had fun with it over the hols! We certainly had
fun playing the medley live at our gigs throughout December. Although the
CD won't be available at our gigs now, copies can still be bought mail order.
Details on our merchandise
page.
Please note we have had some major changes to our
January gigs, with many of the Chicago Rock gigs moved to later in the year.
For an updated list please visit the gig guide.
As it's the beginning of a new year, feel it's
a good time to make a few minor changes to the website. To aid speed of accessing
current info, 'Old' news will be now be regularly moved onto a news
archive for those who may have missed it. Similarly our gig
guide page will only show the coming future gigs. Past Clone gigs can
still be viewed, however, by accessing the 2001
& 2002 gig archive page links on the gig
guide page.

Pleased to announce our Christmas
