Please
note that the Queen's Tap, Swindon gig on the
24th August has been cancelled, due apparently to the brewery withdrawing
the venue's entertainments budget. Strangely enough we had a very late booking
come in
for Swindon last Saturday (10th August) at
the West End Club, This was at the very last
minute, but fortunately several of The Queen's Tap crowd made it. We replaced
"By Jovi" who were forced to cancel on the day of the gig due to
illness.
Pleased to announce we'll be returning to The
Doghouse, Guernsey
the 4th & 5th of September and we can now confirm the date of our appearance
at The Cheese & Grain, Frome, is the 14th
September. (Rescheduled from 5th April due to renovations at the venue).
Lately, it seeems, we have been busy doing mostly return
gigs at some of our familiar (and favorite!) venues, but in October there's
a whole tranch of gigs in areas as yet "un-Cloned", Chelmsford,
Nottingham, Hull
to name but a few, hope to see you there!
We have been playing some sucessful double bill gigs
with "Diamond Dogz"
(Exmouth Pavilion 28th June and St.
Georges Hall, Exeter 20th July). The next is in Topsham, Devon on October
5th but we also share the bill with them at Dartmouth Regatta on August 28th
(plus several other bands).

Please
note, due to a late alteration, we are not at Banbury's
Chicago Rock tomorrow (Wednesday 29th May).
13/05/02
We return
to The Fleece in Bristol next Saturday
(18th May). Great atmosphere last time we played. An excellent venue (Quo
played there in 1999), so hope to see you there!
(£6 admission + support band)
Despite
being "sold out" we are still getting orders for our Xmas
CD, many from abroad. It now looks likely that we'll be producing more
CDs to fill these orders. At the moment we are exploring the most convenient
and economical way to take orders in any currency. Please bear with us. In
the meantime, if you'd like an Xmas CD please email
us to place an order.
This
coincidentally is the first anniversary of the band's debut gig (3rd May last
year). One year on, sees the band now well established and benefiting from
national and local press coverage, radio exposure, with plenty of new and
return gigs coming in.
A special thanks to all Clone Rangers for their support throughout the year
and especially to those who regularly travel long distances to see us. From
here it's onwards and upwards and we're looking forward to another successful
and even busier year ahead!

Please
note there are some alterations to our March & April gigs.
As suspected,
The
Cheese and Grain, Frome,
formally
on the
5th April, has
had to be rescheduled to June (the exact date to be confirmed) and
Sherry's
Tavern, Barnstaple, (13th
April),
has been cancelled due to the venue being unable to continue with live music.
In addition, Willy's, Exeter has
been moved from the 30th March to the 20th April. Please
note too, there is also an additional booking for April just confirmed. The
Britannia
Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon on the 12th April.
See our updated gig guide for a full listing.

There
are two April gigs in doubt. The Cheese and Grain, Frome,
5th April (The venue is undergoing renovation and this building work is currently
behind schedule), Also Sherry's Tavern, Barnstaple,
13th April, Sherry's has just had a noise abatement order issued against it
and consequently the future of live music at this venue looks uncertain. Anyone
contemplating coming to either of these gigs should check our gig
guide nearer the time or email us
for latest info.
We are on holiday from 10th to the 18th March. Lars
is off to Frankfurt for the Music Trade show, Dave is jetting off to sunnier
climes for the week, Steve is stocking up his yacht ready for the summer and
Paul's intentions remain a mystery! See you after the hols at Scally's, Weston-Super-Mare
on the 23rd!
25/02/02
Paul
appeared live on "Wiltshire Sound" BBC Radio
today. Kelly Stooke interviewed him about the band, its history and future
aims. This follows our recent appearance at the Queen's Tap, Swindon which
was mentioned, as was our forthcoming Chicago Rock gig in Salisbury this Wednesday.
Continuing
the improvements to our website. the "search the site" facility
on the "front page"
has now been fully updated. This should make it much
easier to find any specific item quickly on the site.

Check
out our Gallery page, which has just been updated.
More pictures to follow very soon!
Pictures
taken
of us playing The Doghouse, Guernsey have just
been posted on their website, (which can be viewed by clicking here).
We must give a very big and well deserved "thank you" to Mark and
all at The Doghouse & Dolphin Hotel for looking after us so well whilst
we were there.

I see from
the Official Status Quo website
that Rhino is playing tonight at The Worcester Park Tavern, Surrey with a
band called "The Mods". After following in Quo's footsteps by playing
the Fleece in Bristol, it's good to follow in Rhino's too. Our gig at The
Worcester Park Tavern is on Thursday 28th March
Pleased
to say our change of servers has now been completed and the site was only
down for 15 minutes! We will now be able to update the site more regularly
and have more content for you all!
We have been booked at Norton
Park, Dartmouth for New Year's Eve this year (31st December 02). The
management is expecting the tickets to sell out within days of going on sale.
Therefore, we will try to give you all some advance notice (here and by email)
on when the tickets will become available, so those "Clone Rangers"
who wish to come won't be disappointed.
30/01/02
Due to our intended future
expansion of this website and amount of hits we are already getting, we will
probably be changing servers sometime in February. During the changeover our
website may become unavailable for a few days. We apologise for any inconvenience
this may cause.
As we have received quite a few late enquiries and orders
this month for our "Rockin' All Over Christmas" CD, we are producing
a number of extra copies. Thanks to all of you who bought one and to those
who ordered in January, the 'new' CDs will be available from this week.
11/12/01
The booking for "The
Doghouse", Guernsey, for the 6th & 7th of February has now
been confirmed. This gig comes highly recommended. They are flying us out
from Exeter Airport and are providing our accommodation. Should be a good
one!
Apologies to the Chicago
Rock, Isle of Wight, which we were forced to cancel due to Steve contracting
gastric 'flu just the day before. Despite all efforts he was still too ill
to travel or play the gig the next day. This was only the third gig he has
ever had to cancel in his 25 year long professional career. Our thanks to
the Chicago Rock for being so understanding. The good news is that this gig
has now been rescheduled for the 20th February 2002.
Our
thanks also to Mr. Mark Andrews of Panel Staging Systems Ltd, who came to
meet us at our gig at The Chicago Rock, Worcester
(5th December). This company manufactures "REVOSTAGE",
a revolutionary and highly portable staging system, He brought with him staging
for our drum riser. The product was excellent, took only seconds to assemble,
was absolutely stable, very strong and folds down to practically nothing.
Incredible. We will be using RevoStage from January and are very pleased to
be now associated with this company. Anyone looking for strong, versatile
and portable staging should definitely investigate this product. Their website
is www.revostage.co.uk
We have been playing our "Quo" Christmas medley,
"Rockin' all over Christmas", at all of our gigs since the beginning
of December. It has proven so popular, we have, by public request, made it
available as a limited edition CD, Please see our
"Merchandise"
page for info.

Status Clone will be appearing at the Fleece and Firkin,
Bristol, on Friday 18th January 2002. This venue has hosted many big
names, including Oasis, however probably of more interest is the fact that,
of course, Quo themselves chose the Fleece and Firkin as the only Bristol
venue on their "Under The Influence" tour in '99, playing there on the 30th
March of that year. Details of the admission prices etc for our gig at the
Fleece will be posted soon on the Fleece & Firkin web site at www.gigs.demon.co.uk/
It
has been drawn to our attention that a review of Status Clone has appeared
in last week's (Nov 15th) edition of "The Stage",
(of all places, not our normal reading!). This came as a complete surprise
to us. The reviewer, Mark Ritchie, writes: "Status Clone are quite simply
first class in every department. This tribute to Rossi, Parfitt and co is
played completely live and their fast moving and well rehearsed set was wildly
received by the audience. This band should make a lot of money on the tribute
market".
Work
continues on our "secret" Christmas project,
which is due to "go public" at the beginning of December.
